Honeywell Aerospace has landed a major new deal with IndiGo, with the Indian airline selecting the company’s avionics and power systems for 810 Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
The agreement covers a wide range of equipment, including auxiliary power units, weather radar, traffic collision avoidance systems and flight management systems, along with aftermarket support.
Honeywell has partnered with IndiGo since 2015, and the airline has grown its fleet to more than 400 aircraft, reflecting a long and expanding relationship between the two companies.
In a separate announcement, Honeywell said Aeromexico plans to roll out its Surface Alerts, or SURF-A, runway safety technology across more than 100 Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX aircraft, marking another step forward for safety focused innovation in commercial aviation.
SURF-A is designed to give pilots real time aural and visual alerts when an aircraft is on a path that could lead to a runway collision with another aircraft.
The system draws on GPS data, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast equipment and advanced software analytics to detect and flag potential traffic hazards well in advance, helping crews respond quickly and confidently.
Honeywell said it expects the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to begin certifying SURF-A on several Boeing aircraft models starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the process continuing into 2027.
Together, the two agreements highlight growing confidence in Honeywell’s aerospace technology among major airlines, as carriers look to strengthen both operational efficiency and safety standards across their fleets.
