By integrating Steam, Tesla is seemingly looking to enlarge its collection of in-car games’. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company’s “making progress with Steam integration” and that we can expect a demo “probably next month.”
Currently, several games are offered through the built-in Tesla Arcade, such as Cuphead and Sonic the Hedgehog 1. Now with the addition of Steam’s digital storefront the users stand to access many more games.
“We still don’t know if the integration will go so far as to allow users to make purchases on Steam while sitting in their cars, or if there will be any games Tesla’s can’t support.”
Earlier in February, Elon had tweeted that Tesla is “working through the general case of making Steam games work on a Tesla vs specific title.” This means he is mostly planning to ensure the availability of high-end games through a Steam integration, instead of individual games.
