Background:
British holiday park operator Haven is set to nearly double its portfolio of JD Wetherspoon pubs with a £9 million investment. The move is part of a wider £14 million winter investment plan for food and beverage outlets across Haven’s parks.
Haven first partnered with JD Wetherspoon in January 2024, launching the Five Stones at Primrose Valley in Yorkshire in March of the same year. Since then, the partnership has expanded, with the opening of the Red Rocks at Devon Cliffs, the Humber Stone at Cleethorpes Beach, the London Stone on the Kent Coast, and the Sir Thomas Haggerston Castle in Northumberland, following a £6.7 million investment earlier this year.
Looking ahead to spring 2026, Haven plans to launch four more on-site Wetherspoon pubs, bringing the total to nine. New locations include Cala Gran in Blackpool, Lakeland in Cumbria, Riviere Sands in Cornwall, and Hopton in Norfolk.
Over the course of 2025, Haven has already invested £140 million across its parks. Since the start of its JD Wetherspoon partnership, the operator has served nearly 300,000 breakfasts and 700,000 pints across its existing sites, demonstrating the popularity of the offerings among holidaymakers.
Haven is also expanding other food and entertainment options, including a new Burger King at Rockley Park in Poole, taking the total number of Burger King outlets on its parks to 22. Additional developments include a Show Bar renovation at Marton Mere in Blackpool, a new supermarket, and a £10 million water park at Haven Kent Coast.
Simon Palethorpe, Haven’s CEO, said, “Haven is all about giving our customers more of what they love – and our partnership with JD Wetherspoon does just that.” JD Wetherspoon’s commercial director Michael Barron added, “Our partnership continues to go from strength to strength. We are confident the new pubs will prove popular with Haven’s guests.”
Haven currently owns and operates 39 holiday parks across England, Scotland, and Wales, reinforcing its position as a leading leisure operator in the UK.
