US President Joe Biden has expressed in pursuing the climate change agenda as he vowed to take the matter into his own hands as the heatwave sets new records in the US and Europe.
He announced in a visit to Somerset, that considering the present situation, taking modest steps; Biden’s administration is expected to clear the way for new offshore wind energy in the regions of Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico respectively.
The government will spend $2.3 billion to empower communities’ measures against climate change and simplify to support the low-income households to purchase efficient air conditioners to combat the scorching heat.
Apart from combating the pandemic, Biden highlighted the fight against the greenhouse gases which have been heating the planet as one of his highest priorities.
Biden said, “As president, I have a responsibility to act with urgency and resolve when our nation faces clear and present danger. And that’s what climate change is about.”
