After leaving Nike in 2019 and landing a sponsorship deal with Gap’s athleta, American track star Allyson Felix – the track field Olympian is launching her own shoe business.
On Wednesday, Felix debuted Saysh – a new lifestyle brand for women. The company’s first product – the Saysh One sneaker, retails for $150 and is available for pre-order on the company’s website in three colors.
“It’s really about meeting women where they are. It’s for that woman who has been overlooked or feels like their voice hasn’t been heard. That was the biggest thing when I spoke out, was hearing from other women across industries. And having such a connection there, feeling like it’s so much bigger. There’s just that power in the collective,” – Felix said.
Customers are also able to buy a membership to the “Saysh Collective” – a lifetime membership and a digital subscription product that comes with workout videos, opportunities with Felix and other newsmakers. The annual membership costs $150, while a collective membership costs $10 per month.
The announcement comes after Felix on Sunday night finished second in the 400m at the US Olympic Track and Field trials, clinching her spot in the Tokyo Olympics. Allyson Felix is the country’s most decorated female track and field Olympian in U.S. history.
Felix serves as Saysh president, and her brother and business partner Wes hold the CEO title. The company has raised $3 million in seed money from abroad of venture investors. The athlete has been running in a Saysh track spike at Olympic Trials, and she continues to do the same in Tokyo at the Games.
