Spotify Introduces an ‘Entirely New’ Home Feed design based on TikTok

Spotify introduces a new interface similar to TikTok and Instagram feed, the company announced on Wednesday at its Stream On event. The change will affect how Spotify recommends music to users by displaying music video clips and other visual aspects rather than its standard list of albums.

Daniel Ek, Spotify’s CEO and founder, told CBS that the updates include an “entirely new” home feed that has been “completely redesigned from the ground up.” “You’ll see Spotify, I think, come alive,” he added. There will be a lot more interactive content.”

Overview

The album covers will appear on the top of the feed, but an auto-playing podcast or music video may appear under it. The users could select posted videos or podcasts to take them to a page focused solely on that section.

According to a Spotify press release, the new interface is “built for deeper discovery and more meaningful connections between artists and fans”. It is “one of the greatest evolutions” to come to the app since its inception.

End Note

“As we look ahead, we are excited to expand that aspiration to even more creatives across new formats. “Providing the best resources, support, and interactivity, we’re enabling more creativity, discovery, and customization than ever before,” Ek said in the release.

These updates are also designed to assist artists, and a fresh function titled Spotify for Artists will provide a space for artists to be introduced and showcased for users who enjoy similar music genres.
