Delta will add 36 new aircrafts to its fleet. It announced that the company would purchase 29 Boeing 737-900ERs while leasing seven used Airbus A350-900s.
The company’s older narrow-body and larger wide-body planes are being retired as the pandemic caused a demand collapse. This deal is likely to be phenomenal for the airlines, given aircraft use in the travel market during COVID-19.
The airline is investing in expanding and fine-tuning its post-pandemic strategies while taking advantage of a soft market for new and used aircraft.
